When Patagonia approached us for help in rebuilding their wading boots from the ground up, we knew that it would be a partnership built to last. Drawn to our proud tradition of quality and craftsmanship, Patagonia had a clear set of goals in mind when it came to building their new wading boots: They needed to reliably grip all kinds of surbsurface terrain, as well as muddy trails and occasional cross-stream logs; they had to be comfortable and supportive for long days in the water; they had to drain quickly and avoid holding excess water; and on top of all that, they needed to have a lifespan that was measured in decades. With Patagonia’s expertise in fly fishing and innovation and our knowledge of premium footwear, we got to work designing the Foot Tractor and River Salt wading boots.
Refined through this close collaboration, the new Foot Tractor and River Salt provide the heavy-duty support and protection needed for the most demanding wading. Built by hand in Portland, Oregon, they’re the most durable, highest-performing wading boots possible - and they’ve already been recognized with multiple awards from the fly fishing industry. For additional versatility, we’ve made them with aluminum bar, Vibram Idogrip and felt sole options that allow anglers to choose the most effective traction for their specific needs.
With full-grain leather and stitch-down construction, they’re designed to be recrafted as they age, keeping them (and you) in the stream for many years to come.
