Not every adventure has to be defined by a challenge. Sometimes adventure can be found with nothing more than a few good friends and a map – an opportunity to escape and feel miles from nowhere while being no further than a few hours from home.
With this spirit, we designed our Spring 15 Stumptown collection for wherever the road may take you, a line of footwear that is lightweight and comfortable for everyday use, but sturdy enough to take to the mountains on the weekend.
This season, we looked to our past and the backpacking boom of the 1970’s for inspiration. The Danner Canoe Moc, an around-camp moccasin that we debuted in the 70’s was taken directly from our archives. The new Mountain Pass combines the classic aesthetic of our signature hiker with modern, lightweight construction. We incorporated light suedes, soft full-grain leathers, and matte indigos to give the collection an easy-to-wear Spring look.
To test the versatility of our new collection, we enlisted the help of a few of our favorite Pacific Northwest photographers. With a handful of cameras and a Vanagon, they set off towards Central Oregon to capture whatever adventures they encountered.
Their photos can be seen in our Spring 15 Lookbook, highlighting their favorite moments from the weekend trip and reminding us that adventure can be much more than just the destination.
