For the last 30 years, our Mountain Light boot has been believed by many to be the greatest backpacking boot of all time. As a trip to Iceland loomed for the first issue of Uncrate Quarterly, our friends at Uncrate teamed up with us to design a pair they’d want to wear all winter long, no matter where their travels took them.
The Uncrate edition of the Mountain Light is built by hand in Portland, Oregon using a dark black suede, a colorway never before offered. It is paired with all-black hardware and a natural white Vibram Cristy outsole, which will work on just about any terrain. Inside, the boots have a waterproof GORE-TEX lining to fight the elements. Our traditional stitchdown construction means they’re recraftable, so you’ll be wearing these boots for another 30 years or so.
